EN 60742 (CEI 96-2 CLASSIFICATION)
The standard applies to isolation transformers and safety transformers single-phase or multi-phase air-cooled, with rated voltage not exceeding 1000V in alternating current, with rated frequency not exceeding 500Hz and with rated power not exceeding:

for isolation transformers:
  • 25 kVA if single-phase
  • 40 kVA if polyphase
for safety transformers:
  • 10 kVA if single-phase
  • 16 kVA if polyphase

The rated secondary voltage and the no-load secondary voltage must not exceed:

for isolation transformers:
  • 1000V alternating current
  • 1000V root 2V in non-flat direct current
for safety transformers:
  • 50V alternating current
  • 120V flat direct current between conductors or between any conductor and earth.
